ORMOND BEACH, Fla. — Drivers who use U.S. 1 to reach southbound Interstate 95 in Ormond Beach will need to take a detour during five nights of bridge repairs starting Nov. 1.

The Florida Department of Transportation said the ramp will close nightly Nov. 1–5, starting as early as 9 p.m. and reopening at 6:30 a.m.

The final closure is scheduled to end Friday morning, Nov. 6.

Detour routes

Detours will direct drivers to the southbound I-95 entrance at West Granada Boulevard, also known as State Road 40:

  • Southbound U.S. 1 drivers should continue past the interchange and turn right onto Nova Road.
  • Northbound U.S. 1 drivers should turn left onto Nova Road.
  • Drivers accessing northbound U.S. 1 from west of Nova Road should continue past the interchange, make a U-turn at Destination Daytona Lane, then head south on U.S. 1 and turn right onto Nova Road.

From Nova Road, all detoured drivers should travel south for about 1.5 miles, turn right onto West Granada Boulevard and continue west for about 2.5 miles to the southbound I-95 entrance on the left.

FDOT said detour signs will be posted. The schedule may change because of the weather or other circumstances.
