ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Hackers out to steal credit card information have struck again at parking lots near Orlando International Airport, police said.
The latest breach involves a third-party website that many use to reserve parking spots.
It's not unusual for many of those flying out of OIA to choose one of the off-site parking lots and take a shuttle to the terminal.
But there's a warning out for those who booked their parking through a website called book2park.com.
The third-party website takes reservations for several parking lots near airports across the country, including a few lots near OIA.
According to cybersecurity website Krebs on Security, book2park.com appears to be the latest victim of hackers looking to steal and sell credit card numbers.
The website said several banks believe that book2park.com is being targeted by the same group of hackers that hit Target and Home Depot a couple of years ago.
"We get some customers from book2park, but it's not our primary revenue," Andrew Girges of Signature Airport Parking said.
Girges said his company just started an alliance with book2park, and so far he has heard no complaints from customers.
Other lot operators near the airport told Channel 9's Jeff Deal that haven't heard any complaints, either.
Girges said most of his customers use Signature's own website to make reservations and he hopes that customers will see their positive online reviews and not be turned away by news of cyber hackers
"You compare, use reviews to see which one is better, which prices are better," customer Katie Cox said.
Deal attempted to contact book2park.com for comment on this story, but has not had a response.
