• Wingwalker killed after parachute doesn't open

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. - A plane wingwalker has died after authorities say his parachute did not deploy during a jump in southwest Florida.

Pasco Sheriff's officials said the male victim died on scene after attempting a maneuver near Topp of Tampa airport on Saturday. The man's parachute didn't open as he fell from the plane, according to officials.

The pilot of the biplane landed safely in Wesley Chapel.

There was an air show that was going on nearby, but it's unclear if the plane was participating in the event.

Authorities said they are investigating the incident. The victim's identity hasn't been released.
