Deputies: 2 men rob pawn shop, escape in Ford Escape

Deputies said two men allegedly robbed and shot up a Value Pawn in Fern Park Monday.

Witness Sergio Medina was across the street on a busy stretch of 17-92.

Medina said the shots were coming from inside the Value Pawn around noon.

Moments later, he saw two men run from the store and jump into a car.

Next thing he knew, deputies were on the scene. He saw a customer with minor injuries and a store employee holding his head.
Deputies said the thieves made employees lock the door while they robbed the store of cash and goods.

The thieves hit a customer and knocked the manager over the head with a small saw, investigators said.

"My buddy got hit in the head a couple of times with the knife and they shot up the store," Medina said.

There were bullet holes in the front door, a knife and evidence markers on the ground.

Deputies said the men took off with cash and jewelry, but the front doors locked automatically.

That's when the men started firing at the door to get out.

They eventually made it out the back door.

Medina said the thieves were caught on camera.

Deputies said the thieves hopped into a stolen 2002 Ford Escape with a Florida license tag reading BA-L-R-9-2.
