WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. — Winter Springs police said a man is in custody following a standoff that prompted evacuations Sunday morning.
Police evacuated several homes after the standoff started shortly before 10 a.m.
The armed man was inside a home on the 1200 block of Trotwood Boulevard, a residential street off of Tuskawilla Road. After about two hours, police were able to get the man to come out of the home peacefully.
Officials have not said what led up to the standoff, except that shots were fired inside the home prior to police arrival.
The SWAT team was called to the scene to assist with the situation, officials said.
Police have not released the man's identity and it's unclear if he is facing any charges.
