LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — More than half of Mount Dora's city council is under investigation Tuesday morning for possible sunshine law violations.
The state attorney's office received a complaint accusing council members James Homich, Glenna Burch, Tom Eppich and Dennis Wood of conducting city business in private.
An investigator interviewed businessman David Berdnt last week. Berndt sits on a city advisory board and claims councilwoman Burch conspired with other members behind closed doors to vote in a chairperson for that board.
"A couple of years now there have been certain members of the city council who have specific agendas and they're working on self interest politics behind the scenes," said David Berndt, businessman.
Burch, Eppich and Wood had no comment by phone Monday night because all three said they were not aware of any investigation.
