Personal Storage Warehouse Catches Fire

ORLANDO, Fla. — A personal storage warehouse caught fire late Monday afternoon on N. Forsyth Road and Hanging Moss Road in Orlando (see map) . Firefighters responded to the 2-alarm fire around 5:20pm at the Orlando Business Center & Mini Warehouse.

Hazmat was called to the scene due to chemicals inside many of the units. Orange County Fire deployed a search and rescue team, an evacuation team to assist occupied units and a fire suppression team to extinguish the flames. More than eight storage units were involved and at least one vehicle was destroyed.

One person was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with burns to the face and arms caused by an explosion.

It took firefighters nearly one hour before getting the fire under control.
