Man dies after road rage shooting in Orlando, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Police Department is investigating a deadly road rage shooting that happened Monday morning.

Update:

A man is dead after a road rage shooting in Orlando, according to police.

Officers said the shooting happened around 6:24 a.m. on East Colonial Drive.

Police said the man who was shot was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he died.

The other person involved in the shooting remained at the scene, officers said.

Traffic is building near downtown Orlando after a section of a major roadway was closed for a police investigation.

All westbound lanes of East Colonial Drive as closed at Old Cheney Highway for an active police scene.

Officers have not said why part of the major roadway was closed.

Major traffic slowdowns are building in the area as the closures and police activity are impacting the morning rush hour traffic.

It’s unclear how long the roadway will be closed.
