Sen. Johnny Isakson makes surprise return to Senate for key vote

With his vote needed by Republican leaders to help advance a bid by Republicans to repeal another rule from the Obama Administration, Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-GA) flew back to Washington from Atlanta on Thursday morning, and then provided the key vote that allowed Vice President Mike Pence to break a 50-50 tie in the favor of the GOP.

“I’m doing great,” Isakson told well-wishers as he was brought in and out of the Senate chamber in a wheelchair, as Isakson has been recovering from spinal surgery earlier this year.
