ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — WFTV found out there are more problems at the troubled employment agency Workforce Central Florida.
The state's inspector general found the local job agency inappropriately used taxpayer money to buy memberships to places such as Sam's Club for its employees.
The state determined workforce should pay back the $4,200 it spent.
A new Workforce Central Florida board said it is working with the state to fix the problem.
"We brought this issue to the attention of the inspector general because we wanted to make sure that all the things that the past board was either proper or not," said Kevin Shaughnessy of Workforce Central Florida.
At least 100 workforce employees got membership cards between 2008 and last year as a way to boost morale, according to a report.
"Everyone is disillusioned by people wasting money. Seems to be a national thing. It's all over the place," said job seeker, Robert Harris.
Criminal charges won't be filed against the previous administrators, because the inspector general determined the expenses were not criminal or fraudulent.
