MELBOURNE, Fla. — An 18-year-old was shot inside of a home on Swift Drive in Melbourne (see map) Monday morning, and police said his relatives were home at the time.
Melbourne police said they removed the gun that was used from the home. Initial reports stated that a younger sibling of Darryl Sealy was the shooter, but police have not confirmed that.
When officers arrived at the home, Sealy was found conscious with a gunshot wound to his lower body. He was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center where he was undergoing surgery. Sealy was listed in stable condition.
Melbourne detectives said they were interviewing two family members who were present at the time of the shooting.
Police said they have not spoken with Sealy yet and the investigation is ongoing.
