As Donald Trump's comments about the family of a slain Muslim U.S. soldier sparked controversy, prominent Republicans issued statements distancing themselves from the GOP presidential nominee.
Khizr Khan first made national headlines last week when he slammed Trump during an emotional speech at the Democratic National Convention. Khan's son, Capt. Humayun Khan, was killed in the Iraq War. Trump fired back over the weekend, criticizing Khan and speculating that his wife, Ghazala, wasn't allowed to speak.
