FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — A man is dead after drowning at Wild Waves Theme Park in Washington state on Saturday, a spokesperson with South King Fire and Rescue said.
The man, in his 30s, was in one of the activity pools at the park in Federal Way, authorities said. Paramedics attempted to revive the man using CPR but were unsuccessful.
The circumstances of his death are unclear, but some witnesses pointed fingers at the lifeguards, claiming they were slow to react, KIRO7 reports.
Other witnesses told KIRO7 that the scene was chaotic and said the lifeguards took time to debate about what to do.
Witnesses described the man as heavy-set.
South King Fire officials have not released any additional information and deferred to Wild Waves staff for further details.
