CHICAGO — More than two decades ago, who could have guessed that the Cubs would win the World Series this year?
Mike Lee, that's who.
According to WGN, the then-California resident's senior quote in his 1993 high school yearbook offered a prediction that came true Wednesday when the Cubs defeated the Cleveland Indians to win their first World Series since 1908.
"Chicago Cubs. 2016 World Champions," reads the quote under Lee's photo in the 1993 annual for Mission Viejo High School. "You heard it here first."
Marcos Meza, Lee's friend and a fellow Mission Viejo alum, shared a photo and video of the yearbook page with WGN.

"Way to call it, Mike. Way to call it," Meza says in the video. "You heard it here second. Mike Lee called it out first."
Today, Lee lives in Chicago. He told WGN that the quote was inspired by a dream he had as a kid. The year 2016 "was up on that red scoreboard they have ... with Harry Caray blasting away, 'Cubs win the World Series,'" Lee said.
"It was pretty vivid," Lee added. "That's why I remembered it all the way through high school."
