LOS ANGELES — Amazon is taking another step out of the in-person shopping experience -- no waiting in line to check out. Your cart does the totaling and paying.
The online retailer has debuted a new cart that will be used in supermarkets that will total your bill as you shop, The Associated Press reported.
Amazon is rolling out smart grocery carts that are embedded with cameras, sensors and a display that track a shopper's order and charge them, allowing them to skip the checkout line. https://t.co/RpKUPfmz7U pic.twitter.com/bGy0XpRZcp

The new cart comes in the wave of technology-based shopping experiences Amazon has rolled out over the past few years.
It opened a cashier-less supermarket in Seattle earlier this year, KIRO reported.
Go Grocery has sensors and cameras in the ceiling to track shoppers as they browse the aisles picking up items, the AP reported.
It also has convenience stores that operate the same way.
Now these sensors are embedded in the shopping carts and a screen on the handle will show shoppers their total bill as they shop. If an item is removed from the cart, it is removed from the total, the AP reported.
The Amazon Dash Cart will be used at a Los Angeles supermarket later this year, CNBC reported.
