Police in Federal Way, Washington, said they were called at about 3:30 p.m. to a report of a carjacking and kidnapping, KIRO-TV reported.

A man reported that he had arranged to meet with a prospective buyer for a vehicle he had listed for sale on Craigslist, authorities said.

Police said when the seller and his girlfriend arrived at the meetup location, a man and a woman in their 30s approached them and implied they were armed. The man’s vehicle was stolen with his girlfriend still inside, KIRO-TV reported.

Authorities said the suspects drove away in the stolen vehicle and later released the man’s girlfriend.

Police chased the vehicle until officials said the suspect crashed into another car. The female suspect was arrested near the car crash. The man ran away but was eventually caught.

Both were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and will be booked into the King County Jail on multiple felony crimes, authorities said.

The other driver involved in the crash was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
