If you have recently received an email about a Zoom settlement, it may not be junk mail. The email from “Settlement Administrator” from the email address “NoReply@ZoomMeetingsClassAction.com” is legitimate and could bring you $25, Yahoo News reported.
In August, Zoom Video Communications agreed to pay $85 million and heighten security to settle a lawsuit concerning users’ personal data and account security, as previously reported. Under the settlement, the settlement will go to users who had Zoom accounts during the pandemic.
Users who paid for a subscription to Zoom between March 2016 and July 2021, are eligible to receive $25, while those who registered, used, or downloaded the Zoom app without paying for a subscription are eligible for $15, WRAL reported. Payment amounts could change depending on how many claims are filed.
Documentation is required to submit a claim and get money, and all claims must be submitted by March 5, 2022.
To file a claim online, you can go to the Zoom settlement website and fill out a form. You will need either the Claim Number from the notice sent by Zoom, your email address used for registration, or other supporting documentation.
To file a claim by mail, download a claim form from the Zoom settlement website, fill it out, sign and date it, and mail it to the settlement administrator.
