RALEIGH, N.C. — A 27-year-old man is behind bars after a 4-year-old girl died over the weekend in Raleigh, North Carolina.

According to WTVD and WNCN, Raleigh police arrested Milton Ray Horton Jr. on a murder charge on Sunday. He was jailed without bond, arrest records show.
The arrest came after police responded to a report of an injured child about 4:30 a.m. Sunday at Candlewood Suites on Leadmine Road, according to the news outlets. Crews rushed the girl to a nearby hospital, where she died, police said.
Police said Horton knew the girl but is not related to her, WNCN reported. No further information was immediately available.
