MUSCODA, Wis. — A 70-year-old man died after he fell through the ice on a Wisconsin lake Thursday morning, authorities said.
According to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, James McCann was found dead near Kendal Lake at about 6:45 a.m. CST, WMTV-TV reported.
Deputies said McCann was able to remove himself from the water but later died from hypothermia, the television station reported.

The sheriff’s office said McCann had been drilling in the ice when he fell through, the Wisconsin State Journal reported.
Foul play is not suspected, the sheriff’s office said.
