McDonald’s franchisees are raising hourly pay, adding paid time off and will help cover tuition costs, in addition to adding emergency child care to hopefully entice more people to work for the fast-food icon, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Franchisees are responsible for 95% of the 13,450 McDonald’s in the U.S., according to the newspaper. The corporation owns the other 5% of locations, CNBC reported.

The new perks are being introduced to not only keep current workers but also to attract new employees, CBS News reported.

The corporation will be helping the franchisees with the costs to cover the programs, CNBC reported.

The plan was developed after the company collected feedback from more than 5,000 employees, managers, and owners and operators, CNBC reported.
