TRUSSVILLE, Ala. — Investigators have identified the woman they believe purposely crashed the car she was driving through a Home Depot in Trussville, Alabama, to steal merchandise she planted earlier near the front of the store.
Gwendolyn Braswell, 42, of Birmingham, faces charges of second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree theft of property, in the Friday incident that was captured on surveillance video, The Trussville Tribune reported.

Braswell, who is accused of stealing a leaf blower and dehumidifier, is not yet in custody, WVTM reported.
According to police, Braswell staged the items she wanted to steal, drove through the storefront, loaded the items into the vehicle and drove away, WIAT reported.
No one inside the store was injured during the incident, and the charges against Braswell carry bonds totaling $48,500, the Tribune reported.
Police said the owner of the black 2000 Pontiac Sunfire used in the theft contacted the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and helped identify Braswell, the newspaper reported.
