The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced the recall of more than 15,000 BMWs because of an air bag issue.
The NHTSA said that the air bags may have been manufactured incorrectly and may not deploy as intended in a crash.
The recall affects specific 2022-2023 iX xDrive40, iX xDrive50, iX M60 X1 xDrive28i vehicles.
The air bags will be replaced for free and owners will be notified by mail starting April 7.
Owners can also contact BMW at 800-525-7417, the NHTSA said.
