WOODMERE, Ohio — A snowplow driver fell asleep at the wheel and drove into a TJ Maxx store in a suburban Cleveland shopping center on Friday, police said.
According to the Woodmere Police Department, the snowplow driver said he dozed off at about 7:48 a.m. and crashed the vehicle into the TJ Maxx store at Village Square, WJW reported. The 34-year-old man told police he was tired after working long hours clearing snow, the television station reported.
The driver, who owns a snowplow company, was taken to an area hospital and treated for minor injuries, WXIX reported. He was later released, the television station reported.

Police estimated that the crash caused more than $450,000 to the building and merchandise, WXIX reported.
The driver was charged with failure to control the vehicle, WJW reported. He did carry insurance for the vehicle and his business, the television station reported.
The store will remain closed.
