There were about 300 stuffed toys, including a Winnie the Pooh, a Minion and several My Little Ponies, near the Burnside Bridge, a spokesperson for the Oregon Department of Transportation told The Oregonian.

On Twitter, ODOT posted photos of the toys on the side of the highway, joking that perhaps they were runaways from the movie “Toy Story”: “We think they may have been on their way to Pizza Planet, but we’re not exactly sure how they got there. Crews have taken them to our north Portland maintenance yard for care, cuddles and feeding.”

Transportation crews closed a lane of the roadway as they moved the toys to a safer location, KATU reported.

“Its not often we get several hundred stuffed animals visiting our highways,” Don Hamilton, a spokesperson for ODOT, told The Oregonian.

Officials said that they have no idea where the toys might have come from.
