Not only did the left-hander pitch a scoreless inning during the American League’s 3-2 victory in the All-Star Game, he also proposed to his girlfriend.

Cortes, 27, announced his engagement to Alondra Esteras Russy in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Sports Illustrated reported.

“All-Star week made 2 of my dreams come true,” Cortes wrote in his post. “Pitch in (an) all-star game. And propose to my best friend. With my parents along my side. I had to make us official. Through ups and downs we manage to keep each other happy. I thank you for being by my side for every struggle I’ve had but also all the success. I hope there is more to come for both of us. I love you very much!”

Russy showed off photos of the ring on her Instagram account, writing, “And … Of course I said YES!”

Cortes has had a breakout season for the Yankees, who have the best record in baseball this year at 64-28, according to Bleacher Report. He owns a 7-3 record with a 2.63 ERA and has 99 strikeouts in 95.2 innings.

He hopes to add another ring later this season as the Yankees attempt to reach the World Series for the first time since 2009.
