Universal announces more details for immersive Minion Land, opening this summer

ORLANDO, Fla. — Fans of the Minions will go bananas over the latest update from Universal Orlando Resort.

The park shared more specifics about Minion Land, an all-new themed area coming to Universal Studios this summer that will allow guests to eat, laugh and make mischief with the Minions, the hilarious sidekicks and scene-stealers from Illumination’s “Despicable Me” franchise.

On the newly formed Illumination Avenue, guests will be able to put their villainous skills to the test in Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast. The previously announced attraction will have guests compete in a fully interactive gaming experience “that’s so much fun, it’s a crime,” Universal said.

Guests will exit the attraction the Evil Stuff, an all-new retail location to stock up on merchandise.

Opening adjacent to Villain-Con Minion Blast is Illumination’s Minion Café, an all-new immersive eatery features three themed areas: the Kitchen, the Breakroom and the Dining room.

Among the menu items at Minion Café is “despica-bowls,” soup, vegan offerings, sandwiches, sweets and a kids menu all themed after the Minions and “Despicable Me.”

The café will also have an express-window option with a limited menu, according to Universal.
