Edgewater hires Chris Leak as head football coach

Former Florida Gators quarterback Chris Leak will take over as the new head football coach at Edgewater High School. Leak spent the past year working in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers front office. He also served as the Gators wide receivers coach in 2014.

Leak takes over for Rich Bedesem, who left Edgewater to take over as the head coach at Wekiva High School. Bedesem led the Eagles to a district championship in 2014 and a playoff appearance in 2015.

Leak won a national championship as a player at Florida. He played professionally in the Canadian Football League and the Arena Football League with the Orlando Predators.
