ORLANDO, Fla. — A SunRail train that broke down on the track caused delays for riders Monday morning.
For about four hours, the train was stuck at the Lynx station after a water valve issue caused the train to malfunction, officials said.
The train broke down at about 6:15 a.m., and blocked the crossing, causing a backup of traffic on Amelia Avenue.
Another SunRail train had to be brought in to tow the malfunctioning one to Sanford.
SunRail service was restored and was on schedule Monday afternoon.
Riders who were stuck in the delays said they didn't think the problem would last as long as it did.
“They are getting worse recently, and I've been riding it for three years, but I don’t have a lot of problems,” said rider Michelle Spiegel.
SunRail officials said the malfunctioning train has been taken out of service, but they have put a backup train into service.
