Deputies arrested 30-year-old Bryan Durfey and 24-year-old Ashley Dunn on Wednesday and charged them with the murder of 50-year-old Guy Daelemans. Detectives said the two killed Daelemans then set his house on fire in April.
Investigators think it all started as a love triangle that included drugs, and an undercover deal gone bad.
Fire crews made the gruesome discovery of Daelemans body after putting out the fire that was set to his home on Orange Blossom Trail in the Zellwood area. But he didn't die in the fire, detectives said, he was murdered. They said Daelemans was shot before his home was torched.
Detectives said Daelemans was part of an undercover investigation when he was killed.
According to court documents, Dunn dated both Daelemans and Durfrey, but Daelemans did not know she was dating someone else.
According to records, Durfey and Dunn planned to kill Daelemans over an undercover drug deal he'd been a part of that could have landed Durfey in jail for selling drugs.
Dunn was booked into the Lake County Jail. Durfey was booked into the Orange County Jail on a $1,000 bond. He faces a charge of first-degree murder with a firearm.
WFTV found out Dunn has been booked into the Lake County Jail 13 other times since 2006.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office is continuing its investigation. WFTV learned another police department is investigating the case.
