HUNTER'S CREEK, Fla.,None — More questions are surfacing about a robbery at an Amscot check cashing store.
Investigators said two men kidnapped a manager from his home in Kissimmee on Sunday morning, then forced him to open a safe at a store in Hunter's Creek.
WFTV asked what kind of security the store had, because there is no sign of a security guard in the video released late Monday afternoon.
Amscot said it has several layers of security, but a spokesperson won't discuss exactly what those layers are to avoid tipping off crooks.
Investigators said that in the video, the man in the bright yellow jumpsuit and mask is the robber.
He walked in with the manager he allegedly kidnapped from his home. The manager opened the safe, then the man in the jumpsuit took the money and walked out. The manager then stood in the middle of the room for a moment, then picked up the phone.
He told investigators he'd been kidnapped by armed men, forced to rob the store and that his family was tied up at his home in Kissimmee.
When investigators got to his home, three people came outside saying they had just managed to break free from the tape robbers wrapped them in.
The spokesperson for the Osceola County Sheriff's Office said robberies in general at Amscot businesses are rare.
"This is not common for suspects to drive to a person's home and take them to commit a felony," Twis Lizasuain said."Within the past year I don't think we've had any armed robberies to Amscots in Osceola County."
The sheriff's office said hours of interviews with the Amscot manager and his family indicate he didn't know the men he says kidnapped him and bound his family.
An Amscot spokesperson said the manager is doing fine and is taking some time off.
The company is offering a $10,000 reward for the arrest of the robbers.
