ORMOND BEACH, Fla. — Ormond Beach police have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection to a hit-and-run crash Wednesday morning during which an 18-year-old woman was killed.
Investigators said Noah Motto and the victim, Ericka Dane, got into an argument around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at a home in the Ormond Green subdivision.
Police said Motto eventually drove away from the home in a pickup truck and struck Dane when she ran onto Ormond Green Boulevard in an attempt to get him to stop.
Dane died at the scene.
Motto left the scene in his truck but was quickly taken into custody by Volusia County deputies as he pulled into a driveway in Ormond By the Sea, officials said.
Motto has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving a death.
Police said the investigation into Dane’s death is “active and ongoing.”
