Casselberry Cop Accused Of Stalking Girlfriend

CASSELBERRY, Fla. — A Casselberry police officer has been accused of stalking his ex-girlfriend.

Eric Tomasello was arrested Tuesday on felony charges, and is being held on $1,500 bond.

The Altamonte Springs Police Department arrested Tomasello after conducting a criminal investigation into the officer for stalking and hacking into a computer system.

WFTV found out Tuesday's arrest isn't Tomasello's first. In 2009, he turned himself in on domestic battery charges.

In that case, Tomasello's wife claimed he slammed her head into a counter top during an argument over his alleged affair. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement review board didn't find probable cause, and instead recommended he attend counseling.

Tomasello's personnel file says he's also been reprimanded for not seeking out calls for service in the community.

The Casselberry Police Department has placed Tomasello on unpaid leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

He's scheduled to make his first appearance Wednesday.
