Cops: Serial Rapist Breaks Into Apartment, Rapes Woman

ORLANDO, Fla. — Detectives believe a serial rapist in Orange County has attacked again, this time at the Woodland Apartments in Orlando (see map). The serial rapist's MO is to break into apartments while women are sleeping and rape them.

Investigators believe the same man attacked four different women in the past year and a half, and he's still out there. The most recent attack was at the Woodland Apartments early Saturday morning. Women in that community said they are very concerned.

Orange County deputies are hoping someone will recognize a composite sketch of the man. A woman who lives in Woodland Apartments in east Orange County helped authorities come up with the sketch. She said the man broke into her apartment on Saturday morning and raped her.

Other residents say they're worried about their safety.

"I think that is awful. That is scary, because I live right here," one resident said.

Detectives are being tight-lipped about what evidence they collected, but say they believe the man could be linked to three other rapes that date back to 2009.

The last raped happened in June at the Waterside Apartments (see map). A sheriff spokesperson said, in all four cases, the suspect broke into an apartment and then raped the victim.

"We are looking at those four, because they are very similar in the way they occurred," said Jim Solomons of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

A sheriff's office spokesperson said he could not comment on whether they have any DNA evidence that link the cases.

The man in the latest attack is described as an armed, white male in his 20s. Anyone with information on the sexual assault is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS. There is a $1,000 reward being offered.
