FBI To Assist In Missing Firefighter Case

PALM BAY, Fla.,None — Wednesday will mark five years since Malabar Volunteer Firefighter Brandy Hall disappeared. The mother of two was last seen at her fire station in August 2006. Her pickup truck was later found in a lake with blood inside.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is planning to re-interview some potential witness, particularly the last people who spoke to her.

The last time Brandy Hall was seen alive it was through a security camera attached to the corner of the fire station. However, investigators are convinced more than one person knows what happened after she left here.

"Somebody out there knows something,” said Detective Ernie Diebel, Palm Bay Police Department.

Palm Bay police have now asked an FBI cold case team to help them break new ground in the disappearance of the missing 32-year-old.

Hall vanished after leaving the Malabar Fire Department before her shift ended, complaining to a co-worker that she was feeling ill.

She had been planning to testify the next day at her husband's sentencing hearing on marijuana charges.

Police say that about the same time she left the fire station she made one call to Randal Richmond, her former boss at the Palm Bay Fire Department.

At his home, Richmond said Hall told him she was leaving town and he was surprised police wanted to talk more to him.

"Listen, I've just had a knee replacement surgery, so I've got to get off my knee," Richmond said, speaking from behind his front door.

Detectives say they want Richmond to take a polygraph, along with his wife, Ann. Police said they wanted to look more into a public argument that Ann had with Brandy Hall at a seafood festival before Hall disappeared.

"I guess she seemed too familiar with Randal and Ann didn't like that," said Diebel.

Police say they are going to go back through Hall's pickup truck that was found submerged near Brevard Community College. They also plan to re-examine her backpack that was found one year later in an Indian River County canal.

There is one other item still missing. Police say she carried her daily medication in a small bag and that, in addition to Brandy, has never been found.

Five years later, police still consider this a missing person's case but say there is no evidence Brandy Hall is still alive.

Investigators say her husband has been cooperating with them and he is not a suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Central Florida CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS. Callers can be eligible for cash rewards of up to $5,000 in this case.
