6:25 p.m. update
Protesters have gathered outside the Orlando Police Department’s headquarters after marching from Orlando City Hall.
A curfew for downtown Orlando will kick in at 8 p.m.

Protesters march through downtown Orlando
5:42 p.m. update
Protesters are marching through downtown Orlando during a fifth-straight day of demonstrations.
The group gathered outside of Orlando City Hall on Orange Avenue and is making its way toward the Orlando Police Department’s headquarters on South Street.

Police said drivers should expect delays in the area as roads are closed for demonstrators.
A curfew for much of downtown Orlando will begin at 8 p.m. See a map of the area below.
A curfew for the rest of the county will begin at 10 p.m. and run through 5 p.m.

Prosecutor upgrade charge against Chauvin; charging 3 other officers involved
2:38 p.m. update
Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-MN, said Wednesday that a murder charge leveled against former Minneapolis police Officer Derek Chauvin is being upgraded to second-degree murder.
The senator also said three other officers involved in Floyd’s death, Thomas Lane, J.A. Kueng and Tou Thao, will also be charged. Click here to read more.

8 p.m. curfew for part of downtown Orlando
12:55 p.m. update
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orlando police Chief Orlando Rolón said that an 8 p.m. curfew has been enacted for a portion of downtown Orlando -- from Summerlin Avenue to Tampa Avenue and from East Colonial Drive to State Road 408.

The rest of the city and county remain under a curfew that begins at 10 p.m. and runs until 5 a.m.
Officials estimate that 4,000 to 5,000 people marched up to 10 miles during Tuesday’s protest.

They said most demonstrators have remained peaceful, but a small group of people who defied Tuesday evening’s curfew lobbed bricks, bottles and rocks at police officers.
Officials said a man tried to stab an officer with a syringe.

Protest planned for DeLand park
11:24 a.m. update
The DeLand Police Department said a protest planned for noon in downtown DeLand will instead be held at a park.
Police said they met with one of the demonstration’s organizers and mutually agreed upon moving the protest to Earl Brown Park.
Several people who attended a protest Tuesday and who plan to participate in Wednesday’s demonstration said they have every intention of being peaceful, police said.
The protest is still scheduled for noon.

Orlando mayor, police chief to give update on protests
10:27 a.m. update
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orlando police Chief Orlando Rolón will give an update after four days of demonstrations in the city.
The news conference will be held at the city's Emergency Operations Center at 12:15 p.m.

Tampa Bay reporter detained during protest
8:47 a.m. update
According to Luis Santana, a reporter with the Tampa Bay Times was detained during protests in downtown Tampa.
Santana said that the reporter was detained even after identifying herself as media. She was eventually released.

Clermont residents to hold peaceful protest
6:20 a.m. update
A member of the Clermont community has organized a peaceful protest to take place from 3 p.m. to about 5 p.m., according to a release.
The protest is slated to begin at Waterfront Park and end at City Hall.
Tear gas deployed following curfew in Orlando after protesters threw rocks, bottles at police
4:48 a.m. update
Tear gas was deployed late Tuesday evening by police after it appeared that protesters set off fireworks and began throwing rocks and bottles at officers.
The gas was deployed after the 10 p.m. curfew downtown.
