Parrish Medical Center Welcomes Board-Certified Neurologist Daniela E. Rusovici, MD, PhD to North Brevard

Parrish Medical Center is pleased to welcome Board-Certified Neurologist Daniela E. Rusovici, MD, PhD, to its medical staff and the North Brevard community.

Dr. Rusovici received her medical degree from the University of Medicine & Pharmacy “Carol Davila,” Bucharest, Romania.

She then earned a PhD in Biobehavioral Health from Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Penn., and was a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Rochester, N.Y.

Dr. Rusovici completed her medical internship at the University of Maryland, Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore, Md., and went on to complete her Neurology Residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville. While at University of Florida, Dr. Rusovici was mentored by Dr. Kenneth Heilman, one of the founders of behavioral neurology. She conducted clinical research and won the Heilman Research Award for Neurology Residents in her graduating class. She gained extensive experience in evaluating and treating memory disorders, such as Alzheimer's dementia, and also trained in the UF Movement Disorder Clinic working with an elite group of neurologists and gaining expertise in diseases such as Parkinson's and Parkinson’s plus syndrome.

After her Neurology residency she went on to Emory University in Atlanta where she completed a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology with an emphasis on neuromuscular diseases. During her fellowship at Emory University, Rusovici acquired significant experience in the accurate diagnosis and treatment of various nerve diseases (neuropathies), muscle diseases (i.e., myopathies), neurodegenerative diseases such as Lou Gehrig's disease (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and autoimmune diseases such as myasthenia gravis.

Dr. Rusovici’s areas of interest include nerve conduction and EMG studies, stroke, weakness/neuromuscular disorders, myasthenia gravis, epilepsy/seizures, EEG studies, neuropathies/radiculopathies, headaches, pain syndromes, Parkinson’s disease, tremors and memory loss/dementias.

Dr. Rusovici welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance. She is a member of the Parrish Medical Center medical staff, and the Parrish Medical Group.
