MIAMI, Fla.,None — The National Hurricane Center said Saturday that post-tropical cyclone Katia remains a strong storm as it heads toward the northern British Isles.

The hurricane -- with maximum sustained winds near 80 mph (130 kph) -- was on track to pass near or over the northern British Isles on Monday and Tuesday, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami.
Katia is located 295 miles (475 km) east-southeast of Cape Race, Newfoundland. The storm is moving to the east-northeast at 53 mph (85 kph).
