2 killed, 2 others seriously injured in crash between pickup trucks in Volusia County

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Two people died and two others were hospitalized after a crash in Volusia County Monday night.

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the intersection of Osteen Maytown Road near Uranus Trail in Osteen just after 8 p.m. for a crash reportedly involving two pick-up trucks.

Troopers say two people were declared dead on the scene and two others were taken to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries. A fifth person involved in the crash didn’t require any medical attention and remained on scene, according to FHP.

No one involved has been identified.

Osteen Maytown Road remains completely  blocked in both directions between Dixon Lake Road and Uranus Trail as troopers investigate the crash.

They haven’t said what may have led up to the crash or who was at fault.
