OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A man and a woman were killed Saturday morning in a suspicious mobile-home fire near Kissimmee, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office said.
The fire ignited shortly before 6 a.m. on Primero Drive in the Siesta Lago mobile-home park, said Twis Lizasuain, a Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.
"When they arrived, Fire Rescue located a deceased male inside the home," Lizasuain said. "A female was in critical condition."
The woman was brought to a hospital but died shortly thereafter, Lizasuain said.
Inside, they found a man dead and a woman who was critically injured.
"At this time, detectives do have reason to believe the incident is suspicious," Lizasuain said. "And we are investigating both the fire and the deaths."
Neighbor Steven Petko said his mother heard gunfire overnight. Crime isn't uncommon in the community, he said.
"It's kind of a surprise because they seem like normal people," said neigbor Javier Arroyo. "They're good people."
The Sheriff's Office hasn't identified either person who died in the fire.
