Angry McDonald's customer shoots manager over food order, Altamonte Springs police say

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — A Volusia County man turned himself in to deputies after he was accused of shooting a McDonald’s manager in the neck, Altamonte Springs police said.

The shooting happened at 11:11 p.m. Wednesday at 224 W. State Road 436 in Altamonte Springs, police said.

Police said Freddy Alexander Hormazabal, 39, was in the drive-thru, became upset about his food order and went inside the restaurant. Witnesses said Hormazabal got into a verbal argument with the store manager, David Diaz Rosario, and demanded a refund.

Diaz Rosario tried to get Hormazabal to leave and that’s when the victim was shot in the neck, police said. He was taken to the hospital and has since been released.

"It is concerning the fact that someone could get that upset over an order," said Evelyn Estevez with the Altamonte Springs Police Department.

Hormazabal has been charged with attempted murder.

Anyone who captured video of the incident is asked to call the Altamonte Springs Police Department at 407-339-2441.
