Man arrested after missing Longwood man’s body found in Banana River

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Brevard County deputies said the body that was found in the Banana River earlier this week had been dumped in the river in an attempt to conceal a homicide.

Deputies said Trevor Morrison, 62, of Longwood, was killed in Longwood before his body was dumped in the river.

Longwood police said Morrison was reported missing on Wednesday.

As police investigated his disappearance, they said they located Morrison’s car being driven by Leekhan Bryan, an acquaintance of Morrison’s, in Osceola County.

Police said they found probable cause to charge Bryan with aggravated battery, kidnapping, armed burglary, and grand theft.

Investigators said a boater found Morrison’s body Tuesday evening east of Morningside Drive in Merritt Island.

The Brevard County Medical Examiner’s Office concluded Morrison’s death was a homicide.

“The investigation has revealed that the decedent was killed in Longwood, Florida, and transported to Brevard County in an attempt to conceal the crime,” deputies said in a statement.
