BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Rep. Randy Fine (R-Palm Bay) said he was admitted to the hospital Sunday due to the coronavirus.

Last month, Fine announced on social media that he and his family contracted COVID-19.

He said doctors told him he has “some pretty serious damage in my lungs” and “they also did a blood oxygen test that showed a much lower level that what shows up on the pulse oxymeter.”

Doctors told Fine that they want him to stay in the hospital as a precaution and for observation. He said he doesn’t need supplemental oxygen or a ventilator.

“My odds are pretty good. But then again, I wouldn’t have thought I’d be getting admitted to the hospital after 12 days of this,” Fine said. “I don’t normally ask people to pray for me, but I’m going to make an exception this time. And please include my family in it, as they need me. I have so much left to teach the boys.”
