PORT CANAVERAL, Fla.,None — The newest Carnival cruise ship calling Port Canaveral home is on its way to the Bahamas Tuesday morning.
The Carnival Ecstasy left the port Monday night.
It’s expected to generate more than 1,000 jobs and pump $50 million a year into the local economy.
Earlier this year, the port started building a new $60 million terminal.
The additions are part of a bigger plan to attract more customers to the area.
Fantasy, Disney’s newest ship, will also call Port Canaveral home. It’s set to arrive next year.
