On Wednesday, Eyewitness News reported about a Daytona Beach Salvation Army food pantry that is struggling to serve dozens of families that rely on them every week.
The pantry's shelves were nearly empty when Channel 9's Kristyn Caddell visited.
Caddell reported that the pantry was asking the community for help, and on Thursday she learned that community members stepped forward.
Dozens of turkeys, boxes of bread and other food items have been dropped off.
Officials said the food will enable them to feed 4oto 50 families.
People also stopped by the pantry to donate their services at a Thanksgiving dinner the Salvation Army was providing.
Pantry officials said the demands on food pantries are growing, and said they are seeing people who have not used their services for years.
