Cocoa Beach leaders to hear from residents about medical marijuana

COCOA BEACH, Fla. — On Monday officials in Cocoa Beach will discuss where medical marijuana can be sold if people vote in support of the issue in November.

The city has been outlining what efforts it will take to regulate clinics since last year.

The proposed ordinance would restrict clinics and dispensaries to be 1,000 feet from schools and churches and 200 feet from the center line of major roads.

There would have to be a 2,500 foot distance from pain management clinics.

Tomorrow’s public meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
