PORT ORANGE, Fla.,None — Newly released police dash camera video shows a Volusia County man ramming a Port Orange police cruiser during a chase.
The man driving in a blue pick-up can be seen in the video intentionally backing into a cruiser. Police said he then took off on Nova Road.
At one point in the video, the man appears to be chasing a police officer in a circle and then rams the cruiser from behind. He tries to ram it again, but loses control on the wet pavement, hits the guardrail and the truck ends up on its roof.
Police said the incident happened in August. They said Kenneth Monte was driving the pick up and was taken to Halifax Medical Center after the crash.
He is now in the Volusia County Jail facing a list of charges. None of the officers involved were seriously hurt.
