Lakeland man found shot to death in front of home

POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Polk County sheriff’s detectives are investigating the death of a man they said was shot in front of his Lakeland home.

Deputies said Horace Scott was found shot to death in front of his home on Captiva Point around 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Detectives said two or three individuals shot the 66-year-old and ran off.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said deputies would continue to search until they found the persons responsible.

"We have K-9s working. We have not yet found the suspects. But I can tell you this. We're going to find the suspects. And we're going to put them in jail because they murdered this man," said Judd.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
