VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A 54-year-old man was arrested Saturday 20 minutes after he robbed a bank in Deltona, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said.
Mark T. Johnson, of Deltona, claimed to be armed when he walked into the TD Bank on Providence Boulevard south of East Normandy Boulevard shortly before 11:45 a.m. and demanded money, said Gary Davidson, a Sheriff's Office spokesman.
"Employees said that after handing over the money, the suspect left the bank and headed south on foot," Davidson said. "Assuming he was most likely fleeing the scene in a vehicle, deputies immediately began covering various escape routes."
Shortly after noon, a silver car was seen barreling through the intersection of State Road 472 and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Beltway near DeLand, Davidson said. %

Minutes later, deputies pulled over the car's driver, Johnson, at Orange Camp Road and South Blue Lake Avenue and arrested him.
Upon searching Johnson’s car, deputies found the money from the bank underneath the driver’s seat, Davidson said.
Johnson was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach on armed robbery and grand theft charges. He was held in lieu of $105,000 bail.
No one was injured. %
