The popular show will take the stage at the Dr. Phillips Center whose leaders have spent years planning for a major expansion to add a new theater.

People who spoke to Channel 9's Michael Lopardi said they were excited about the lineup.

“People don’t want to see second-rate shows. The shows that they are announced are pretty big already,” said patron Billy Mech.

A spokesperson with the Dr. Phillips Center said the announcement was made early to generate excitement and not to raise money for the center’s expansion project.

The spokesperson said the center has already raised the $10 million dollars needed for the $200 million dollar project.

The Dr. Phillips Center needs to get approval from Orlando city officials before the expansion could move forward.

During a taping of "Central Florida Spotlight" Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs said the groundbreaking could happen in March. The county approved $45 million for the project.

“The final hall is the hall for our local performers that don’t have a place right now,” Jacobs said.

A spokesperson with the Dr. Phillips Center says their contractor is currently reviewing bids to determine the final price of the expansion.
