VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Emergency crews responded to a rollover crash on State Road 44 east of Colony Park Monday afternoon.
Firefighters and paramedics worked to stabilize the overturned vehicle before removing the patient. Rescue crews then folded down the vehicle’s roof, a technique used to minimize patient movement during extraction.
Officials said reducing body movement during rescues can be critical, particularly when serious injuries are suspected.
The patient was removed from the vehicle and transported for medical treatment. Information about the patient’s condition was not immediately released.
Authorities are reminding drivers to use extra caution on area roadways, especially during wet weather conditions.
